1 Minute Recipe | Easy Carbonara
Ingredients
- Spaghetti10 oz
- Bacon4 slices
- Garlic · chopped2 cloves
- Egg2
- Pecorino cheese½ cups
- Black pepper1 ½ tsp
- Parmesan cheese½ cups
- Parsley1 tsp
Instructions
- Cook the spaghetti until al dente, following the package directions.
- Meanwhile, cook the bacon over medium-high heat for about 7 to 8 minutes until crispy. Add the chopped garlic, sauté for 1 minute, then remove from the heat and let cool for 3 to 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, mix the egg yolk, cheese and the bacon and garlic mixture with a spoon.
- Add the hot cooked pasta to the cheese mixture and toss everything together; the heat of the pasta will cook the egg. If it is too thick and not mixing well, add a couple of tablespoons of pasta water to loosen it.
- Add the parsley and black pepper and toss once more.
- Transfer to a serving plate, add extra cheese if you like, and serve immediately.
