Akhrot Sheera - Walnut Halwa Pudding Video Recipe | Bhavna's Kitchen
Ingredients
- Walnut · coarsely ground3 cups
- Ghee⅓ cups
- Milk1 cup
- Sugar1 cup
- Cardamom · ground1–2 tsp
- Saffron
Instructions
- In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the milk, saffron, cardamom and sugar; the creator used 2 minutes in the microwave, but timing may vary by appliance.
- Heat the ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan, add the coarsely ground walnuts and roast over medium heat until fragrant and well browned.
- Add the milk mixture to the walnuts a little at a time, stirring constantly, until all the milk is absorbed and the halwa pulls away from the sides of the pan.
- Stir in the chopped walnuts, combine well and turn off the heat.
- Let the halwa cool, as it thickens as it cools; do not let it get too thick before this.
- Shape it by pressing it into a square dish and cutting into pieces, or serve as it is.
