Ingredients
- Red bean1 cup
- Sugar1 ½ cups
Instructions
- Put the red beans in a pot with 4-5 cups of water, boil for 5 minutes, then drain off the water.
- In a clean pot, add the beans and 4-5 cups of water, cover, and simmer on low heat for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, adding more water to keep the beans covered, until they are very soft and crush easily between your fingers.
- Drain the water again, return the soft beans to the pot with the sugar, and stir constantly over medium-high heat for about 10 minutes, until a shiny but still loose paste forms.
- Transfer the paste to a container right away.
