Banana Fritters // The best banana fritters recipe you will ever make! // Ridiculously easy!
Ingredients
- Banana4
- Flour2 cups
- Baking powder2 tsp
- Salt1 tsp
- Milk½ cups
- Egg2
- Nutmeg · ground½ tsp
- Flavorless Oil for frying
Instructions
- Peel the overripe bananas, put them in a large bowl and mash with a fork or potato masher until mostly smooth, leaving some lumps.
- Add the flour, baking powder, salt, milk, eggs and nutmeg to the bowl and mix just until combined. The batter should be light and runny.
- Pour oil into a pan to a depth of about 3 inches (7.5 cm) and heat on high until it reaches 365°F (185°C). Then lower the heat to medium so the fritters don't burn outside before cooking through.
- Drop tablespoons of batter into the oil, without crowding the pan, and fry until golden. Flip and cook the other side until golden.
- Drain the fritters on paper towels. Let the oil come back up in temperature between batches and repeat with the remaining batter.
- Serve warm as a breakfast with tea, as a snack, or dusted with powdered sugar as a dessert.
