Basundi recipe with condensed milk
Ingredients
- Milk6 cups
- Condensed milk½ cans
- Nutmeg · powder1 pinch + 0.13 tsp
- Cardamom · powder½ tsp
- Saffron1 pinch + 10
- Pine nut¼ cups
- Sugar¼ cups
- Nuts4 tbsp
Instructions
- Rinse a heavy-bottomed pot or pan, pour in the milk and bring it to a boil over medium heat.
- Once the milk is hot, take 2 tablespoons of it out and use it to soak the saffron.
- Lower the heat to medium and boil the milk for 5 to 7 minutes, scraping the cream from the sides and stirring it back in. Stir often so it does not burn.
- Pour in the condensed milk and keep boiling on medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring constantly so it does not scorch. Simmer a little longer if you want it thicker.
- Add the saffron milk, nutmeg, cardamom powder and chopped nuts. Simmer for one minute, then switch off the heat.
- Taste and add more condensed milk if you want it sweeter.
- Transfer to a serving bowl, cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
