Blistered Shishito Peppers with Ginger Soy Sauce
Ingredients
- Chili pepper5 oz
- Soy sauce1 tbsp
- Ginger½ tsp
- Honey½ tsp
Instructions
- Peel and grate the ginger, then measure 1/2 teaspoon of grated ginger with its juice.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together 1 tablespoon soy sauce, the grated ginger and 1/2 teaspoon honey (optional). Set aside.
- Make a small slit in each shishito pepper so steam can escape.
- Heat a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the peppers and let them char on one side without moving them. Flip and roast until the other side is blistered and charred, about 8 to 10 minutes.
- Move the peppers straight from the pan into the ginger soy sauce and coat them well. Serve warm or at room temperature.
