BUTTER BURGER! My New Favorite Burger? | Chef Jean-Pierre
Ingredients
- Ground beef6 oz
- Bacon · finely chopped1 oz
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Cheddar cheese2 slices
- Burger bun1
- Butter · softened2 tbsp + 1 oz
- Onion · thinly sliced¼ cups
- Garlic · finely chopped1
Instructions
- Beat the softened unsalted butter with the finely chopped garlic until the garlic is evenly spread through the butter, then set it aside.
- Mix the ground chuck and chopped bacon gently until combined, then shape into patties about 3 inches across. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Heat a fry pan over medium-high heat with 1 tablespoon of clarified butter. Add the sliced onion and cook, stirring now and then, until softened and slightly golden. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper and keep cooking until tender and a rich light golden color. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Add another tablespoon of clarified butter to the pan and raise the heat to high. Place the patties in the pan and leave them undisturbed for about 2-3 minutes to sear.
- Flip the patties and cook another 2-3 minutes, or until done to your liking.
- During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with a slice of cheddar and let it melt.
- While the patties cook, slice the brioche bun in half and spread a thin layer of garlic butter on the cut sides.
- Heat a separate fry pan over medium heat with a little clarified butter. Place the bun halves cut side down and toast until golden and crisp.
- Place one toasted bun half on a plate, add a cheesy patty, spread a generous amount of caramelized onions on top, set the second patty on the onions, and close with the remaining bun half.
- Serve immediately while warm.
