Caramelized Onion Dip
Ingredientes
- Onion3
- Butter2 colheres de sopa
- Each salt and sugar2 colheres de chá
- White wine¼ xícara
- Sour cream12 oz
- Cream cheese · softened8 oz
- Garlic · grated1 dente
- Parsley · minced

Modo de preparo
- Peel the onions and slice them very thinly.
- Melt the butter in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the onions, sprinkle with the salt and sugar, and cook 10–15 minutes, stirring every few minutes. Add a little wine at a time, letting it cook off each time, until the onions are deeply golden brown and fragrant, about 30 minutes in total.
- Chop the onions coarsely, or snip them into small pieces in the pan with kitchen scissors.
- Beat the cream cheese and sour cream together until smooth with a hand mixer or spoon. Stir in the onions and a handful of parsley.
- Taste and season. For extra flavour, add a small splash (about a tablespoon or less) of soy sauce and/or Worcestershire sauce, or a grated garlic clove. Serve warm-ish or cold.
