Chocolate Chip Cookie Bark
Ingredients
- Flour1
- Baking soda½ tsp
- Salt · for topping½ tsp
- Butter · melted¾ cups
- Sugar⅔ cups
- Brown sugar¼ cups
- Egg1
- Vanilla2 tsp
- Chocolate chip½ cups
- Chocolate · finely chopped8 oz
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (191°C). Line a 12x17-inch light-coloured baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt.
- Whisk the melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg yolk and vanilla until combined. Pour into the dry ingredients and mix with a silicone spatula until fully combined. Fold in the mini chocolate chips.
- Press the very soft dough evenly across the whole lined pan, using your hands first and then an offset spatula to reach the edges.
- Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, until deep golden brown on top. Check after 15 minutes; a dark pan will bake faster than a light one.
- Sprinkle the chopped chocolate over the cookie and bake 1 to 2 more minutes to melt it.
- Cool the pan on a rack, spread the melted chocolate evenly over the cookie, and top with flaky sea salt or sprinkles if using. Cool for 20 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes until the chocolate is set.
- Break or cut into bite-size pieces.
