Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Cut the pork butt into two pieces, then slice each piece into 1-inch thick steaks.
  2. Coat the steaks all over with the dry spice mix.
  3. Roast at 350°F until the internal temperature reaches 125–130°F.
  4. Take the steaks out, brush them with BBQ sauce, flip them, and repeat on high heat until a light crust forms.
  5. Remove from the oven, glaze once more, and let rest for 5–10 minutes.
  6. Melt butter in a large pan and cook the diced onion until translucent.
  7. While the onion cooks, make the boxed mac and cheese following the package directions.
  8. Spread half the mac and cheese in a casserole dish, top with grated Emmental and sharp cheddar, add the rest of the mac and cheese, and cover with more grated sharp cheddar and Emmental.
  9. Sprinkle breadcrumbs over the top and drizzle with olive oil.
  10. Bake in a high-heat oven until the top is light golden brown.
  11. Thinly slice the pork steaks and serve with the baked mac and cheese.
