CREAMY Marry Me Pasta | Quick & EASY 20 Minute Pasta Recipe
Ingredients
- Penne8 oz
- Extra virgin olive oil3 tbsp
- Onion1
- Garlic6 cloves
- Flour1 tbsp
- Oregano · dried1 tsp
- Thyme · dried½ tsp
- Paprika · smoked½ tsp
- Chili flake · crushed¼ tsp
- Vegetable broth¾ cups
- Milk1 cup
- Sun dried tomato · chopped½ cups
- Manchego cheese · grated2 tbsp
- Basil · chopped¼ cups
- Lemon2 tsp
- Salt
- Black pepper
Instructions
- Fill a stockpot a little over halfway with water, salt it generously and bring to a high heat.
- Meanwhile, heat a large frying pan over medium heat and add the olive oil.
- After a couple of minutes, add the chopped onion and garlic and stir constantly. After about 3 minutes, when the onion is slightly translucent, add the flour and stir for 2 minutes.
- Add the oregano, thyme, smoked paprika and crushed red pepper and stir quickly. Then add the vegetable broth and milk and gently stir for a couple of minutes.
- When the sauce is slightly creamy, after about 5 minutes, add the sundried tomatoes, season with salt and pepper and stir. Lower to low heat and simmer, stirring gently every 2 minutes so no film forms on top.
- When the water boils, add the pasta and stir every 2–3 minutes so it does not stick and cooks evenly.
- When the pasta is al dente (check package instructions), lift it with a large slotted spoon directly into the pan with the sauce, then turn off the heat.
- Sprinkle the grated cheese, chopped basil and lemon juice over the pasta and gently mix until well combined.
- Serve straight from the pan or in shallow bowls, immediately.
