Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F, fan).
  2. Put the sausages on a baking sheet and bake for about 20 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through. Take them out and set on a board.
  3. Meanwhile, cook the pasta in boiling water until al dente, then drain, reserving about one cup of the cooking water.
  4. While the pasta and sausages cook, heat a large frying pan over medium heat.
  5. Add the bacon to the hot pan and cook for 5 to 6 minutes, turning once, until browned and crisp. Transfer to a board.
  6. Add the tablespoon of oil to the bacon fat in the pan.
  7. Add the onion and cook for 5 minutes, stirring often, until softened.
  8. Add the drained pasta to the pan with the onion.
  9. Add the cheese, cream and black pepper, and stir until the cheese has melted.
  10. Slice the sausages and bacon, add them to the pan and stir everything together.
  11. If the sauce is too thick, add splashes of the reserved pasta water until it reaches your preferred consistency.
  12. Serve in bowls topped with the parsley and extra black pepper if you like.
