Instructions
- In a large wide pan over medium-high heat, melt 1/4 cup butter, then fry the steak strips with salt and pepper for about a minute until browned. Move the steak to a plate and set aside.
- Lower the heat to medium and sauté the chopped onion in the same pan for 3 to 4 minutes until soft. Add the mushrooms and cook until golden brown. Stir in the garlic until fragrant, sprinkle the flour over and cook for about a minute.
- Slowly whisk in the beef stock and simmer until the sauce starts to thicken.
- In a separate jug, stir 1 cup Cremora Original into 1/2 cup boiling water until dissolved. Add the Worcestershire sauce and mustard and mix until combined.
- Add the Cremora mixture to the pan and stir. Reduce the heat to low, cover and simmer for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Return the steak to the pan and stir for about a minute until the sauce coats the meat.
- For the mash, mix 1/2 cup Cremora Original, 1/2 cup boiling water and 1/4 cup butter in a jug until combined.
- Pour this over the boiled, drained potatoes and mash until smooth and creamy. Season with salt to taste.
- Serve the mash and stroganoff hot, topped with plenty of chopped parsley.
