Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Make the streusel: beat the butter and peanut butter until smooth, then mix in the sugar, honey and salt. Add the beaten egg and vanilla and mix well.
  2. Sift the flour with the baking powder, mix lightly, then cover and chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour.
  3. Make the dough: whisk the milk, eggs, sugar and vanilla together, then add the flour and salt and mix until combined. Add the softened butter and mix until fully absorbed.
  4. Knead on a floured counter until smooth and elastic, shape into a ball, and place in an oiled bowl, turning to coat with oil. Cover and let rise until doubled.
  5. Punch down the dough and divide into 16 equal pieces. Roll each into a ball and rest for 10 minutes.
  6. Flatten each ball and pinch the edges to seal. Dip half of each piece in water, then press the wet side onto a handful of chilled streusel on the counter.
  7. Place the dough pieces in a 10x17 sheet pan (or similar pan you have). Cover and leave for 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Bake for 17 to 20 minutes, until golden.
