Dad's Irresistable Stir Fried Bok Choy (蒜蓉炒白菜)!
Ingredientes
- Bok choy1 lb
- Garlic2 dientes
- Corn oil2 cdas.
- Salt½ cdtas.
- Sugar½ cdtas.
- Chicken stock½ cdtas.
Preparación
- Wash the baby bok choy well: separate the stems, soak and scrub the base of each stem where dirt collects, then rinse under running water.
- Optionally soak the bok choy in water for 30 minutes.
- Drain in a colander and lay the bok choy flat on a towel to dry thoroughly before stir-frying.
- Cut the stems in half lengthwise. Separate the leaves from the stalks if you like, optionally cooking the stalks first.
- Heat a wok on high heat for 2–3 minutes. Meanwhile, mince the garlic.
- Add the corn oil and heat until it shimmers and ripples across the surface.
- Add the minced garlic, then the stalks a few seconds later, then the rest of the bok choy.
- Stir-fry for 6–8 minutes, until the stalks soften slightly and the leaves turn a deep, vibrant green.
- Just before finishing, add the salt, sugar and chicken bouillon (optional). Transfer to a plate immediately to stop overcooking.
