Instructions

  1. Saute the chopped onion and minced garlic in oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the shredded chicken and season with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder and oyster sauce.
  3. Add the flour and chicken stock, cook and stir until thickened. Set aside.
  4. In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, salt and yeast.
  5. Add the milk and egg and mix until a dough forms.
  6. Add the softened butter and mix until fully absorbed.
  7. Knead on a lightly floured surface until smooth and elastic, then shape into a ball and coat with oil.
  8. Cover and let rise for 40 to 50 minutes, until doubled in size.
  9. Punch down the dough and roll it into a rectangle about 21 x 14 inches.
  10. Cut the dough in half and spread the chicken filling on one half. Add mayonnaise if you like, then the mozzarella or other cheese.
  11. Fold over and seal the edges. Cut into 7 equal pieces about 3 inches long, and place on a lined baking pan. Cover while the oven preheats.
  12. Brush with egg wash and make shallow cuts on top with a knife.
  13. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20-22 minutes.
  14. Brush with melted butter and serve.
