Easy Apple Cake with Just 6 Ingredients #shorts
Ingredients
- Egg6
- Sugar1 cup + 1 tsp
- Flour1 ⅓ cups
- Baking powder½ tsp
- Vanilla1 tsp
- Apple1 ½ lb
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line the base of an ungreased 9-inch springform pan with a ring of parchment paper.
- Beat the 6 eggs on high speed for 1 minute until foamy. With the mixer still running, gradually add the 1 cup of sugar and beat on high for 8 to 10 minutes, until thick and fluffy and a ribbon forms.
- Meanwhile, peel, core, quarter and slice the apples into 1/4-inch pieces.
- Whisk the 1 1/3 cups flour with the 1/2 tsp baking powder. Sift the flour into the egg batter in 3 additions, folding with a spatula after each and scraping the bottom of the bowl. Stop once no streaks of flour remain. Quickly fold in the 1 tsp vanilla extract.
- Fold in the sliced apples, reserving 1 cup for the top. Pour into the pan, spread evenly without tapping the pan, and scatter the reserved apples over the top.
- Bake at 350°F for 50 to 55 minutes, until the top is golden brown.
- Rest in the pan for 15 minutes. Loosen the edges with a thin spatula or knife, then transfer to a platter to cool to room temperature. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
