Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Make a small slit in each shishito pepper so steam can escape.
  2. Grate 1/2 teaspoon ginger, with its juice, and whisk it with 1 tablespoon soy sauce and 1/2 teaspoon honey (optional) in a bowl.
  3. Heat a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the peppers and let them brown without moving them. Once the bottom is well charred, turn them and roast until the other side is blistered and charred, about 8 to 10 minutes.
  4. Move the peppers straight from the pan into the ginger soy sauce and coat them well. Serve warm or at room temperature.
