Easy Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake
Ingredients
- Butter · softened¾ cups
- Brown sugar1 cup
- Egg1
- Vanilla2 tsp
- Flour2 cups
- Cornstarch2 tsp
- Baking soda1 tsp
- Salt½ tsp
- Chocolate chip1
- Chocolate
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish or round cake pan with nonstick spray.
- Beat the butter and brown sugar on medium speed until creamy, about 3 minutes. Beat in the egg, egg yolk and vanilla on medium-high until combined, scraping the bowl as needed.
- Whisk the flour, cornstarch, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl. Add to the wet mixture and beat on low until combined. Mix in the chocolate chips for about 5 seconds.
- Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake 22 to 26 minutes, up to 30 minutes depending on your oven, until the surface is lightly golden all over. Loosely cover with foil after 15 minutes if it browns too much at the edges. It is done when a toothpick comes out with just a few moist crumbs.
- Cool completely on a rack. Loosen the edges with a knife, then transfer to a plate or serve from the pan.
- Frost the cooled cake with chocolate buttercream, if using.
