Easy Prosciutto Wrapped. Cheese-Stuffed Dates

Easy Prosciutto Wrapped. Cheese-Stuffed Dates

By Tatyana's Everyday Food · 20 min

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Let the goat cheese soften at room temperature for about 30 minutes (10 to 15 minutes for mascarpone; about 30 minutes for hard blue cheese, then crumble it).
  2. Preheat the oven to 425°F (218°C) and line a small baking sheet with parchment.
  3. Cut a slit along the top of each date and remove the pit.
  4. Stuff each date generously with the softened cheese and press it lightly closed; it will not close fully.
  5. Cut each prosciutto slice into 3 lengthwise strips, using a knife for neater cuts. Wrap each date in prosciutto and place it seam-side up on the baking sheet.
  6. Brush the dates lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with fresh thyme.
  7. Bake at 425°F (218°C) for 8 to 12 minutes, until the cheese is soft and the prosciutto is lightly crisp.
  8. Let the dates cool for about 5 minutes, then drizzle lightly with honey and/or balsamic glaze and serve warm within an hour.
