Easy Tres Leches Cake (So Creamy!) #shorts
Ingredients
- Flour1 cup
- Baking powder1 ½ tsp
- Salt¼ tsp
- Egg5
- Sugar1 cup + 2 tbsp
- Vanilla1 tsp
- Milk⅓ cups
- Evaporated milk12 oz
- Sweetened condensed milk9 oz
- Cream2 ⅓ cups
- Berries1 cup
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and butter a 9x13 casserole pan. Set out three mixing bowls.
- In a large bowl, sift together 1 cup flour, 1 1/2 tsp baking powder and 1/4 tsp salt. Separate the eggs into the other two bowls.
- Beat the egg yolks with 3/4 cup sugar on high speed for about 2 minutes, until pale yellow. Stir in 1/3 cup milk and 1 tsp vanilla.
- Beat the egg whites on high speed until soft peaks form (about 1 minute). Keep the mixer running and pour in the remaining 1/4 cup sugar, then beat until stiff but not dry (about 1 minute).
- Pour the yolk mixture over the flour mixture and combine gently with a spatula. Fold in the egg white mixture until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smooth the top, and bake at 350°F for 30 to 35 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Stir together 1/3 cup heavy cream, 12 oz evaporated milk and 9 oz sweetened condensed milk in a large measuring cup or bowl with a pouring lip.
- When the cake has cooled, prick the surface all over with a fork. Slowly pour the milk mixture over the cake and let it rest for 30 minutes to soak in. Cover and refrigerate overnight if preferred.
- Beat 2 cups cold heavy cream with 2 Tbsp sugar in a chilled large bowl on high speed for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes, until thick and spreadable.
- Spread the whipped cream over the cake with a spatula and decorate with berries if you like.
