Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Grate the carrots, then finely chop the onion, garlic, bell pepper and parsley.
  2. Pour off 2 tablespoons of oil from the sardine can into a pot or skillet and heat it for 1 minute. Fry the onion and garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add the remaining chopped vegetables, stir, and push them to one side of the pan.
  4. Drain the rest of the sardines, add them to the cleared side and mash them lightly, leaving them not too mushy.
  5. Mix the fish and vegetables together. The filling is ready.
  6. Rub the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and butter together with your fingertips until well combined.
  7. Add the water little by little and mix until a dough forms. Knead on a floured board for about 2 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  8. Pinch off a piece of dough a little smaller than a golf ball.
  9. Roll it on a floured board into an oval.
  10. Place 1 tablespoon of filling at one end, fold the dough over it, fold in the edges, and roll up to the other end. Repeat with the remaining dough.
  11. Heat the oil on high for 5 to 10 minutes until hot, then lower to medium. Fry the rolls without overcrowding for about 5 to 8 minutes until golden brown.
  12. Drain the rolls on paper towel to remove excess oil.
