Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Remove the casings from the sausages and discard them.
  2. Heat olive oil in a sauté pan, add the sausage and break it up with a spatula. Cook over medium-high heat for about 15 minutes, stirring now and then, until cooked through. Let it cool.
  3. Drain the mozzarella and press out excess moisture with paper towels, then slice it thinly.
  4. Spread tomato sauce over the par-baked pizza sheet.
  5. Add a layer of sliced mushrooms and season them with grated parmesan and ground black pepper.
  6. Top with the mozzarella slices and season with salt. Add chunks of the cooked sausage and scatter chopped fresh oregano or basil lightly over the top.
  7. Preheat the oven to 500°F (260°C) for 45 minutes with a pizza stone in the middle.
  8. Slide the pizza onto the hot stone and bake at 480°F (250–260°C) for about 8 to 10 minutes.
  9. Use a peel or tray to slide the pizza out, cut into portions and serve.
