Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Make the apple filling: cut the unsweetened apple pie slices into small cubes, then mix in the cinnamon and sugar.
  2. Make the guava filling: drain the guava halves, cut them into small cubes, and mix with the custard in a small bowl.
  3. Make the peach filling: drain the peach slices, cut them into small cubes, and mix with the cream cheese in a small bowl.
  4. Grease the bottom and sides of a small, deep baking dish with 1 tablespoon of butter.
  5. Remove the crusts from the bread slices and flatten each slice with a rolling pin.
  6. Place 1 to 2 teaspoons of apple filling in a strip about ½ cm from one end of a slice. Roll tightly and set aside. Repeat until the apple filling is used up.
  7. Fill and roll the guava and peach mixtures the same way.
  8. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla and sugar until well combined.
  9. Dip each roll in the egg mixture, coating well, then stand them tightly upright in the dish, alternating the three fillings until the dish is full.
  10. Pour the remaining egg mixture over the rolls.
  11. Bake at 180°C for 15 to 20 minutes, until golden. Brush the baked rolls with apricot jam.
  12. Dust with icing sugar and serve with custard and vanilla ice cream.
