Green Beans with Almonds & Butter — 15-Minute Side! #shorts
Ingredients
- Green bean1 lb
- Butter4 tbsp
- Almond½ cups
- Black pepper0.13 tsp
- Salt¼ tsp
- Garlic2 cloves
- Lemon1 ½ tsp
Instructions
- Fill a large saucepan two-thirds full of water and bring to a rapid boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt and the green beans, return to the boil, and cook for 3 to 7 minutes until crisp-tender, depending on their size.
- Drain the beans straight away, then rinse under cold water to stop the cooking. Drain well and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 3 tablespoons of butter. When it foams, add the almonds, 1/4 teaspoon of salt and the black pepper, and stir constantly for 2 to 3 minutes until the nuts are golden and toasted.
- Add the minced garlic and stir for 30 seconds until fragrant but not browned. Remove from the heat, stir in the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter, then add the green beans. Season with more salt and pepper to taste.
- Grate in the lemon zest and toss to combine. Transfer to a serving platter, pour the pan sauce and almonds over, sprinkle with extra lemon zest, and serve immediately.
