Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Optionally blend the cottage cheese until smooth, then transfer it to a large bowl.
  3. Mix in the flour, baking powder and salt until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough gently on a lightly floured surface until smooth, adding flour 1 tablespoon at a time only if it is too sticky.
  5. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions of 90–100 g each, roll each into a smooth ball and place on the tray.
  6. Beat the egg with 1 tablespoon of water, brush over the buns and sprinkle with sesame seeds if you like.
  7. Oven: bake for 30–35 minutes, until the tops are golden brown.
  8. Air fryer: preheat to 350°F (180°C), lightly spray the basket, and cook a few buns at a time without overcrowding for 10–15 minutes, until golden and cooked through.
  9. Let the buns cool for at least 10–15 minutes before serving.
