Healthy Tuna Patties — High Protein, Budget-Friendly & Perfect for Weight Loss
Ingredients
- Tuna2 cans
- Oats1 cup
- Egg4
- Onion½
- Garlic · minced2 cloves + 2
- Parsley · finely chopped½ bunches
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Chili flake · flakes¼
- Olive oil2–3 tbsp
Instructions
- Drain the tuna well and put it in a large bowl. Grate the onion, mince the garlic and finely chop the parsley, then add them to the bowl.
- Blend the oats in a food processor or blender for 1 to 2 minutes until they form a coarse flour, then add to the bowl.
- Season with salt, pepper and chili flakes. Beat the eggs in a small bowl, pour them into the tuna and mix well. Let it rest for 5 to 10 minutes so the oats absorb moisture.
- With damp hands, shape the mixture into 10 patties.
- To pan-fry: heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties 3 to 4 minutes per side, until golden and crispy.
- To bake instead: preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the patties on a parchment-lined baking sheet, lightly brush or spray with oil, and bake 15 to 18 minutes, flipping halfway, until lightly golden.
