Homemade Crackers - Sesame and sea salt flavoured
Ingredients
- Flour1 cup
- Salt · flakes¾ tsp
- Sesame seed2 tbsp
- Extra virgin olive oil2 tbsp
- Olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C / 400°F (180°C fan-forced).
- Mix the flour, half the sesame seeds? No — mix the flour, sesame and salt in a bowl. Make a well, add the water and oil, and mix with the spatula handle until the flour is incorporated.
- Knead the dough briefly into a ball, then cut it in half. Roll one piece on lightly floured surface into a 3mm (1/8") thin oval.
- Place the dough on baking paper. Sprinkle with half the sesame and half the salt flakes, then roll even thinner to 2mm (1/12").
- Cut into 5cm (2") squares with a pizza cutter or knife, leave the pieces in place, and slide the paper onto a tray. Repeat with the other piece of dough.
- Spray with oil and bake both trays together for 12 minutes.
- Rearrange the pieces so the more golden ones on the outer rim move to the centre, then bake a further 8 to 10 minutes until all pieces are light golden.
- Cool the crackers on the tray for about 20 minutes.
