Ingredients
- Bread flour3 cups
- Yeast1
- Sugar2 tsp
- Luke warm water¼ cups
- Butter3 tbsp
- Milk1 ¼ cups
- Salt1 tsp
- Bread1
Instructions
- Heat the milk until lukewarm, add the butter and let it melt.
- Stir the yeast and sugar into the lukewarm water and wait until it froths. Do not use hot water.
- Add the salt and the milk and butter mixture to the frothy yeast.
- Add the flour one cup at a time and mix to a dough. It will be very sticky; only add more flour if you really cannot handle it (the creator needed one tablespoon).
- Knead for 10 minutes, until the dough is soft and no longer sticky.
- Cover and let rise for about 1 hour, until doubled in volume.
- Punch down and divide into 12 equal balls. Place them on a greased baking sheet, about 1 inch apart, and let them rise again until doubled and touching.
- Bake in a 350°F oven for 25-30 minutes, until the tops are golden brown. Cool before serving.
