Honey Soy Chicken Wings
Ingredients
- Chicken wing1 ¼ kg
- Sesame seed1 tsp
- Scallion1
- Honey4 tbsp
- Soy sauce5 tbsp
- Dark soy sauce1 tbsp
- Apple cider vinegar3 tbsp
- Garlic1
- Canola oil½ tbsp
Instructions
- Mix the marinade in a bowl until the honey dissolves. Pour it over the wings in a zip-top bag.
- Marinate for 30 minutes (overnight is possible but does not noticeably improve the meat).
- Preheat the oven to 200°C/400°F (180°C fan). Line a large tray with foil, then paper.
- Spread the wings on the tray skin side up. Set the marinade aside. Bake for 30 minutes.
- Pour off and discard the juices on the tray; this is key for a thick sauce.
- Pour the reserved marinade over the wings, toss to coat, then spread them out skin side up again.
- Lower the oven to 180°C/350°F (160°C fan). Bake for 30 minutes, basting with the tray juices every 10 minutes (3 times). Rearrange or flip the wings if needed. The sauce should be syrupy at the end.
- Transfer the wings to a serving bowl. Pour the syrup from the tray over them, then sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onion.
