Hot Fudge Sauce
Ingredients
- Chocolate · chopped4 oz
- Sugar6 tbsp
- Heavy cream½ cups
- Corn syrup¼ cups
- Dutch process cocoa · powder3 tbsp
- Salt0.13 tsp
- Butter · softened2 tbsp
- Vanilla1 tsp
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the chocolate, sugar, cream, corn syrup, cocoa powder and salt until the chocolate melts.
- Bring to a boil, whisking occasionally, then boil for 3 minutes.
- Check with an instant-read thermometer: the fudge is done at 220°F (104°C). Without a thermometer, 3 minutes of boiling is usually enough.
- Take off the heat right away and stir in the butter and vanilla until combined.
- To store, cool completely and keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week. It thickens as it cools. Reheat gently over low heat or in the microwave.
