How to make a Lower Calorie Chopped Cheese that still tastes good.
Ingredients
- Ground beef180 g
- Salta sprinkle
- MSGa sprinkle
- Onion¼
- Pickled jalapeñoa handful
- American cheese1 slice
- Cheddar cheesea handful
- Mayonnaise1 part
- Sour cream1 part
- Lime½ part
- Hoagie rolls1
- Lettuce
- Tomato
Instructions
- Mix all the lime crema sauce ingredients in a bowl. Taste and adjust with more seasoning or lime juice if needed.
- Set a pan over medium heat and add the ground beef. Sprinkle with salt and, if you like, a pinch of MSG.
- Sear the beef for 1 to 2 minutes to brown it. Add the onions on top and break everything up with a spatula.
- After 2 more minutes, or when the beef and onions are mostly browned, add the cheese and jalapeños on top.
- While the beef finishes, slice the hoagie roll open and spread some lime crema on the inside.
- Place the bread on the meat and cheese for a minute to steam, melt and crisp. Then flip the sandwich so the roll is on the bottom and the meat and cheese are on top.
- Top with shredded lettuce and a few slices of seasoned tomato. Add another dollop of sauce if you like.
- Wrap the sandwich tightly in foil and parchment, letting it steam briefly, then slice open and eat.
