HOW TO MAKE A SPANISH OMELETTE | The Ultimate Potato & Egg Dish | Tortilla de Patatas
Ingredients
- Potato3
- Egg5
- Onion1
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Salt
Instructions
- Peel the three potatoes, cut them in half, then cut into even quarters.
- Slice the potatoes about 1 cm thick.
- Warm a medium deep frying pan over low heat and add a generous amount of extra virgin olive oil.
- Once the oil is warm, add the potato slices and simmer for up to 5 minutes.
- Peel the onion, slice it into thin strips and add them to the pan.
- Cook the potato and onion until they start to soften.
- Whisk the 5 eggs well in a separate bowl.
- Pour the eggs into the pan and gently move the mixture so the egg runs through.
- Keep moving the mixture slightly and slide the spatula around the edges so nothing sticks to the pan.
- Cook for about 10 minutes.
- Place a large flat dish over the pan, then flip the pan so the omelette falls onto the dish.
- Slide the uncooked side back into the pan and cook for another 10 minutes or so, depending on your preference.
