How to make a stuffed mozzarella burger! | Recipe in Description!
Ingredients
- Red onion1
- Ground beef400 g
- Mozzarella cheese80 g
- Balsamic vinegar2 tbsp
- Mortadella2 slices
- Burger bun2
- Tomato1
- Arugula2
- Mayonnaise
- Egg1
- Olive oil125 ml
- Vegetable oil125 ml
- Lemon1
- Basil1 bunch
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) or heat the barbecue until very hot.
- Wrap the red onion in foil and cook for 2 hours until soft. Start the mayo when the onion has 30 minutes left.
- Separate the egg and whisk the yolk until fluffy. Gradually whisk in both oils a little at a time until thick. Loosen with lemon juice if too thick.
- Season with a pinch of sea salt and more lemon juice. Pound the basil in a mortar to a paste and stir into the mayo.
- Season the mince and divide into 4 pieces. Shape into flat patties. Put half the mozzarella on 2 patties, top with the other 2, and seal the edges so the cheese is enclosed. Shape into a neat burger.
- When the onion is cool enough to handle, peel it, mash with a fork, discard the root, then mix with balsamic vinegar and season.
- Grill the burgers for 8 to 10 minutes, turning regularly.
- Crisp the mortadella on the grill bars and shape into a circle. Toast the sliced buns and thickly slice the tomato.
- Spread 1 tablespoon of basil mayo on the bottom bun, then layer tomato, mortadella and rocket. Top with the burger and a spoonful of onions.
