How to Make Brigadeiro! Brazilian Candy Recipe | Hilah Cooking
Ingredients
- Sweetened condensed milk1–14 oz
- Chocolate milk · powder3–4 tbsp
- Butter2 tbsp
- Cake sprinkles
- Paper candy cups
Instructions
- Pour the milk, chocolate powder and 1 tablespoon of the butter into a medium saucepan. Stir with a silicone spatula until smooth.
- Place over medium or medium-high heat and stir constantly until it begins to bubble around the edges. Lower the heat to keep a slow simmer.
- Keep stirring until the mixture darkens and thickens. Adjust the heat as needed so it does not burn or stick; scrape the sides and bottom of the pan well.
- After about 10 minutes (give or take a few), the mixture should be quite thick and pull away from the bottom of the pan when you tilt it.
- Turn off the heat.
- Smear a little of the reserved butter on a plate or marble slab, and spread the mixture into a disk about 8 inches across. Let cool about 5 minutes, until cool to the touch.
- Lightly grease your hands with butter, roll the mixture into small balls about the size of a large grape, coat in sprinkles, and place each in a paper candy cup.
- Store at room temperature in a container for up to about 3 days.
