How to Make Double Blueberry Lattes at Home
Ingredients
- Blueberry · frozen1 cup
- Sugar½ cups
- Lemon2 tsp
- Vanilla½ tsp
- Cream3 tbsp
- Half & half2 tbsp
- Milk2 cups
- Coffeeto taste
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, stir together the blueberries, water, sugar and lemon zest. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, mashing the berries with a spoon as they soften.
- Lower the heat to a simmer and cook, stirring now and then, for 10 to 15 minutes, until the syrup thickens slightly and the berries burst.
- Take the pan off the heat and strain the mixture through a fine sieve into a bowl or jar, pressing the solids to get all the liquid. Discard the solids. Stir the lemon juice and vanilla into the syrup and let it cool for 1 hour.
- Put the whipping cream, half-and-half and 3 tablespoons of the cooled syrup in a lidded jar. Seal and shake for about 5 minutes, until the cream is thick and stiff.
- For each drink, put 3 tablespoons of the syrup in a 16-ounce mason jar. Add 1 cup of ice, then pour in ½ cup of milk and the desired amount of brewed coffee or matcha.
- Top each drink with 3 tablespoons of the cold foam and serve immediately.
