How to Make Flan | Hilah Cooking
Ingredients
- Egg3
- Cream cheese4 oz
- Sugar1 cup
- Milk½ cups
- Evaporated milk½ cups
- Vanilla2 tsp
- Caramel
Instructions
- Heat the oven to 400°F.
- Beat the eggs, cream cheese and sugar together, gradually raising the speed to high, then beat for one minute.
- Slowly add the milk and vanilla and mix until combined. Set aside.
- For the caramel, put 1/2 cup sugar in a heavy skillet over medium-low heat. Cook, stirring often, about two minutes until the sugar begins to clump. Stir constantly for a few more minutes until it starts to melt. Lower the heat and keep stirring until it is liquid and golden, about 8 to 10 more minutes.
- Divide the caramel among 3 to 10-ounce ramekins or 4 to 8-ounce ramekins, or use an oven-safe skillet.
- Pour the custard over the caramel in the dishes.
- Place in a water bath and bake 35 minutes to one hour, until mostly set.
- Unmold onto serving plates while warm. Refrigerate and serve cold, or serve warm.
