How to Make Ham and Cheese Waffles | Hilah Cooking
Ingredients
- Butter8 tbsp
- Milk1 ¾ cups
- Flour2 cups
- Sugar1 tsp
- Salt1 tsp
- Yeast1
- Egg2
- Cheddar cheese · grated½ cups
- Ham · minced½ cups
- Scallion · minced2 tbsp
Instructions
- Melt the butter and stir it into the milk. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, salt and yeast.
- Whisk in the milk and butter until just combined.
- Add the eggs and whisk until fully incorporated; a few lumps are fine.
- Cover and refrigerate for 12 to 24 hours (up to 48 hours is fine).
- When ready to cook, stir in the cheese, ham and chives. Preheat the oven to 200°F to hold the cooked waffles.
- Cook in a Belgian or American waffle iron following its instructions. A Belgian iron makes fewer, thicker waffles; an American iron makes more, thinner ones.
- Keep the waffles warm on a rack set on a baking sheet in the oven for up to 30 minutes.
