How to Make Jalapeño Bacon Cheeseburger | Hilah Cooking
Ingredients
- Bacon2–4
- Ground beef¾ lb
- Worcestershire sauce2 tsp
- Garlic · minced1 tsp
- Black pepper½ tsp
- Salt½ tsp
- Cheese2–4
- Pickled jalapeño
- Buns
- Ketchup
- Pickle
- Lettuce
Instructions
- Put the bacon halves in a cold pan in a single layer, then set the heat to medium. Cook for 3-4 minutes.
- Mix the ground chuck with the Worcestershire sauce and garlic in a large bowl, handling it lightly until the seasonings are evenly combined.
- Shape the meat into two patties, each no more than 1 inch thick and about 5-6 inches across, with the centre 2 inches slightly thinner than the rim.
- Season the outside of the patties with the salt and pepper.
- Flip the bacon and cook another 3-4 minutes, until as crisp as you like. Meanwhile, prepare the tomato, lettuce and onion.
- Move the bacon to a plate or paper towel to drain. Pour off all but 1 tablespoon of the fat from the pan.
- Optional: grill the jalapeño slices in the bacon fat before cooking the patties.
- Raise the heat to medium-high and add the patties. Cook 3 minutes on one side.
- Flip and cook 3 minutes for rare, 4 minutes for medium-rare, or 5 minutes for medium to medium-well. Add a cheese slice for the last 1-2 minutes: about 1 minute for American cheese, 2 minutes for other cheeses.
- Serve on buns with the bacon, jalapeños and your other toppings.
