How To Make Mashed Potatoes - Garlic Mashed Potatoes Recipe | Hilah Cooking
Ingredients
- Potato2 lb
- Garlic · peeled3 cloves
- Butter3–6 tbsp
- Half & half⅓–½ cups
- Salt1 tsp
- White pepper
Instructions
- Peel the potatoes if you like, cut them to roughly the same size, and put them in a pot of cold water with the garlic cloves. Cover and bring to a boil over high heat.
- Once boiling, leave the lid cracked. Boil 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the type and size of potato, until a fork or skewer goes into the middle with almost no resistance.
- Meanwhile, heat the butter and half-and-half together until the butter melts.
- Drain the potatoes well and return them to the pot.
- Add the butter and half-and-half mixture, the salt and the pepper. Mash until as smooth as you like, or use an electric mixer for a smoother, fluffier result.
- Serve immediately, with extra butter or gravy if you like.
