  1. In a bowl, mix the beef with the salt, crushed bouillon, onion powder, garlic, red pepper, oil and lemon juice until well combined.
  2. Heat a skillet, add a little oil, then cook the beef in a single layer until browned and cooked through. Work in batches if needed so the pan is not crowded.
  3. Move the beef to a plate and let it rest for a few minutes.
  4. If using sausages or hotdogs, brown them in the same pan until lightly browned, then set aside.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise, ketchup, sweet chili sauce, lemon juice and red pepper until smooth and creamy.
  6. Finely shred the cabbage and grate or julienne the carrot.
  7. In a large bowl, mix the beef, cabbage, carrot and some of the sauce.
  8. Separate the pita into two rounds if it has a pocket; leave it whole if it is not very fresh.
  9. Spoon some of the beef mixture onto the lower third of each bread. Add a sausage on top if using.
  10. Fold one side over the filling, tuck in the bottom edge, and roll tightly.
  11. Place seam-side down in a dry skillet, grill pan, sandwich press or panini maker and toast 1 to 2 minutes per side until golden and lightly crisp.
  12. Slice in half and serve.
