How to Make Pão de Queijo - Brazilian Cheese Bread | Hilah Cooking
Ingredients
- Milk1 cup
- Butter2 tbsp
- Vegetable oil2 tbsp
- Flour3 cups
- Salt1 tsp
- Egg · beaten2
- Cheese · grated4 oz
Instructions
- Set the oven to 400°F.
- Combine the milk, butter and oil in a small pot over medium-high heat and bring to a boil.
- Put the tapioca flour and salt in a stand mixer bowl.
- Pour in the hot milk and mix on low until smooth; the dough will look soft and stringy. Once cool to the touch, beat in the eggs one at a time until fully incorporated.
- Mix in the cheese. If the dough is too runny to scoop, chill it in the fridge for 30 minutes or longer until it firms up.
- Line two baking sheets with parchment. Scoop the dough by large tablespoons, spaced an inch apart.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until lightly golden and puffed. For a crispier outside, bake for 25-30 minutes instead.
- Eat warm or let cool. Store cooled leftovers at room temperature for up to 3 days and reheat in a low oven before serving.
