Ingredients

Instructions

  1. If you cannot find round rolls, cut small rolls into rounds with a round cookie cutter.
  2. Beat the butter and sugar until creamy, add the egg little by little and mix well. Add red and yellow icing gel colour to make orange dough, then add a few drops of vanilla extract.
  3. Sift in the flour and baking powder and mix well.
  4. Spoon the dough onto each roll, then wrap in plastic wrap so the roll is evenly coated with the dough.
  5. Roll each bun in granulated sugar and place on parchment paper. Score the dough with random vertical lines using a scraper or knife, then press a pistachio, walnut or pumpkin seed into the top of each bun.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Meanwhile chill the buns in the fridge to set them for up to 30 minutes.
  7. Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 10 minutes, watching closely as oven heat varies.
