How to Make The Easiest Pizza Dough Recipe
Ingredients
- Flour4 cups
- Yeast1 tbsp
- Salt2 ¼ tsp
- Olive oil¼ cups
- Pizza sauce2 cups
- Mozzarella cheese16 oz
- Pepperoni1 cup
- Semolina
Instructions
- Put the flour, yeast and salt in a stand mixer bowl with a dough hook and stir on medium to combine.
- Add the water and olive oil and mix on medium speed for 8 to 10 minutes, until the dough forms a ball.
- Put the dough in a large oiled bowl, turning it so the surface is coated in oil.
- Cover tightly and leave in a warm place for 1.5 to 2 hours, until doubled in size.
- Near the end of the rising time, preheat the oven to 500°F (250°C) with a rimless baking sheet inside.
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface, knock it back and divide into 6 equal pieces (about 8 oz/225 g each).
- Shape each piece into a smooth ball, cover and rest for 20 minutes. Balls can be bagged and refrigerated up to 2 days, or frozen for 6 weeks.
- Dust a large sheet of parchment with semolina. On a floured surface, roll one ball into a 10 to 12 inch (25 to 30 cm) circle and place it on the parchment. If the dough springs back, cover and rest 10 minutes before rolling again.
- Top with 1/2 cup (120 ml) pizza sauce, then 4 oz (115 g) cheese and the pepperoni.
- Slide the parchment onto the hot baking sheet and bake 10 to 12 minutes, until the crust is bubbly and the cheese is toasted at the edges.
- Move to a cutting board, slice with a pizza cutter and serve immediately.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge. Reheat in a 350°F (180°C) oven for 10 minutes.
