Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Melt the ghee in a hot pan, add the chopped almonds, pistachios and walnuts with the sliced dates, and roast on low heat until golden brown.
  2. Add the milk, sugar and cardamom powder to the pan and let it reduce. It should take on a slight brown colour from the dates.
  3. In a separate hot pan with a little ghee, break the vermicelli in half and roast on low heat until golden brown.
  4. Reduce the milk to 30–40% of its original amount.
  5. Add the roasted vermicelli, stir gently and bring to a quick boil until the vermicelli has absorbed the milk. Add saffron strands if using.
