Individual Apple Crumbles
Ingredients
- Butter · melted7 tbsp
- Apple3
- Brown sugar3 tbsp + ⅔ cups
- Cinnamon · ground1 ¼ tsp
- Nutmeg · ground0.13 tsp
- Flour1 cup
- Salt
- Ice cream
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C). Brush six 6-ounce ramekins with 1 Tablespoon of the melted butter and set them on a baking sheet.
- In a large bowl, combine the apples, 3 Tablespoons brown sugar, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg. Divide the apples among the ramekins.
- In a medium bowl, mix 2/3 cup brown sugar, 1 cup flour, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and a small pinch of salt. Fold in the 6 Tablespoons melted, slightly cooled butter with a fork, keeping the mixture in large crumbles and stopping before it becomes a paste.
- Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples, pressing it down gently if needed. It can stay piled high because it will settle as it bakes.
- Bake for 32 to 36 minutes, until the topping is lightly toasted and the apples look softened.
- Serve warm. Add ice cream and salted caramel if you like.
