Instant Pot Beef Plov - Flavor-Packed One-Pot Meal #shorts
Ingredients
- Rice2 ½ cups
- Beef1 lb
- Olive oil4 tbsp
- Butter4 tbsp
- Onion1
- Carrot3
- 720 ml very warm water3 cups
- Salt1 tbsp
- Black pepper½ tsp
- Cumin · ground½ tsp
- Paprika · ground½ tsp
- Coriander seed · ground½ tsp
- Garlic1
Instructions
- Rinse and drain the rice and set it aside.
- Set the Instant Pot to sauté on high (press sauté twice). Add the olive oil and heat until hot but not smoking. Add the beef in one layer and brown lightly, about 5 minutes, stirring now and then.
- Add the butter and diced onion and stir for about 3 minutes until softened.
- Add the carrots with the salt, black pepper, cumin, paprika and coriander. Sauté about 5 minutes until softened, stirring now and then.
- Spread the rice evenly over the top without stirring. Push the garlic halves cut-side down halfway into the rice.
- Pour the very warm or hot water over the garlic so the rice stays undisturbed. Poke 5 to 7 holes through the rice to the bottom of the pot with the back of a wooden spoon.
- Cover and cook on high pressure for 30 minutes using the Multigrain setting.
- Let the pot natural-release for 10 minutes, then move the valve to venting. Wait until all steam is out and the valve has dropped before opening.
- Remove the garlic and set it aside. Stir the rice well, then squeeze the soft garlic cloves back into the pot and mix.
