Korean Beef Hot Pot, Bulgogi Jeongol!
Ingredients
- Garlic · finely chopped10–12 cloves
- Soy sauce6 tbsp
- Fish sauce3 tbsp
- Sugar5 tbsp
- Red wine4 tbsp
- Black pepper¼ tsp
- Beef · thinly sliced1 lb
- Noodle14 oz
- Onion · sliced½
- Scallion1
- Tofu · sliced1
- Mushroom · sliced1 lb
- Handful crown daisy
- Sesame seed
Instructions
- Mix all the sauce ingredients in a medium bowl until the sugar has fully dissolved.
- Add the thinly sliced beef and half the sauce, mix well and set aside to marinate while you prepare the vegetables.
- Drain the konnyaku noodles and rinse them under hot water for 1 to 2 minutes, then drain again.
- Spread the sliced onion over the bottom of a large shallow pot. Arrange the remaining vegetables, tofu and konnyaku in the pot, leaving the centre empty.
- Place the marinated beef in the centre. Pour the rest of the sauce around it, not over the beef. Add the water from the side of the pot and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
- Cover and bring to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, move the beef around in the centre so it cooks evenly.
- Keep boiling for 5 minutes, until the beef is fully cooked and the vegetables are soft.
