- Sugar½ cups
- Salt½ tsp
- Butter24 tbsp
- Brown sugar¾ cups
- Honey½ cups
- Cream¼ cups
- Vanilla1 tsp
- Pecan · coarsely chopped3 ½ cups
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a 9x13 pan with foil or parchment, leaving overhang for lifting, and spray with nonstick spray.
- In a food processor or bowl, pulse 2 cups flour, 1/2 cup powdered sugar and 1/4 tsp salt. Add the cold diced butter and pulse until coarse crumbs with some pea-sized pieces form.
- Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the pan. Bake at 350°F for 18 to 20 minutes, until set and the edges are just lightly browned. Set aside while you make the filling.
- In a large saucepan, combine 3/4 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup honey, 12 tbsp butter, 1/4 cup cream and 1/4 tsp salt. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer for 2 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla and pecans.
- Pour the hot filling over the warm crust. Bake 20 to 25 minutes, until the top bubbles and turns caramel colored.
- Cool the pan on a wire rack until completely at room temperature.
- Lift the bars out using the paper or foil, then cut into 2-inch squares. Serve at room temperature.
