Low Fat Chocolate Mug Cake
Ingredients
- Flour2 tbsp
- Natural granulated sweetener1 tbsp
- Cocoa powder2
- Baking powder¼ tsp
- Salt1 pinch
- Butter1 tsp
- Almond milk2 tbsp
- Vanilla0.13 tsp
- Chocolate chip¾ tbsp
Instructions
- Spray a 1/2-cup mug with cooking oil spray.
- Add the flour, sweetener, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt to the mug and whisk to combine.
- Stir in the melted butter, milk and vanilla.
- Optional: fold in half of the chocolate chips and scatter the rest on top.
- Microwave on Quick or High for 40 seconds. Check the top with a fingertip; if the middle is still underdone, microwave for 10 more seconds, no longer, as the cake keeps cooking in the mug.
- Oven option: preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and spray a 1/2-cup ramekin with cooking oil spray. Prepare the batter as above and bake for about 15 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean. For a fudgier cake, check at 11 minutes; the toothpick should come out slightly moist but not coated in batter.
